My project will be to volunteer in Mr. Westray's C block Algebra class and help students with work. I want to see what type of learning style is the best: tactile, auditory, kinesthetic, or visual. The end product hopefully will be that I can help the kids in Mr. Westray's class with whatever questions they have. I also hope to set up a lesson plan with Mr. Westray where he uses all of the teaching strategies to see which they can best understand.

I want to see which type of learning suits the majority of kids and if that translates into roughly the national average. I have had no prior experiences with my topic. The reason I want to do this is because in the future when I become a teacher I want to know how best to cater to my students' needs.

Richie--good topic! We'll talk this class about setting up the project and choosing mentors.

Essential Question -
What are the most effective learning styles for teaching math?

For my research product format I will be writing a paper.

My narrowed down essential question is under what circumstances is visual learning effective and what circumstances is auditory learning helpful.

Thesis statement: Visual learning is most helpful is algebra and geometry. Auditory learning most helpful in word problems of any sort.
